Effect of Vitamin B12 Therapy in a Patient with Folic Acid Deficiency

The influence of vitamin B12 on hemopoiesis in a patient with folic acid deficiency was investigated. The data presented indicate that vitamin B12 induced a hematologic remission while tissue folate levels remained depleted. Possible mechanisms are discussed.
