Dietary Management in Chronic Hemodialysis

1) A technique for dietary instruction in chronic hemodialysis patients was described.

2) Two groups of patients were studied. One group of 25 patients was dialyzed twice weekly and maintained on a 60-g protein and 400-g sodium diet. Another group of 14 patients was dialyzed three times weekly anti maintained on an 80-g protein and variable sodium intake.

3) Both groups preferred the added dietary allowance and clinically did well.
