Results of analyses of the nutritional status of residents in a Home for the Aged in Yugoslavia and data on their clinical and laboratory examinations are presented. An anomaly found in the majority of the residents was moderate anemia. Menus are planned according to modern concepts for the diet of the aged. Practically no signs of nutritional deficiencies were found by clinical examinations. Although many of the residents are not in good health when admitted to the Home, their average life expectancy is high because they live under constant medical care in a well-ordered community and consume a balanced diet.
