Urinary creatinine excretion by 104 girls aged 7 to 9 years, being fed a wide variety of diets under controlled conditions, was relatively stable for approximately 50% of the subjects. Coefficient of variations of creatinine excretion was 10% or less for 51.9% of the subjects, indicating that creatinine is not excreted on a constant basis for all subjects under controlled dietary conditions. As nitrogen intake ranging from 3.54 to 14.12 g/day increased, urinary creatinine also increased, although the relationship cannot be completely clarified by these studies.
