Ascorbic acid and cholesterol levels in pastoral peoples in Kenya

Pastoral tribes of Kenya with a high cholesterol intake were sampled. There was a positive correlation between levels of serum cholesterol and both plasma and leukocyte ascorbate. The possible relevance of these findings to atherogenesis is discussed.
