Correction of error

Dear Sir:

I would like to correct an error (recently brought to my attention) in the article "Nutritional status of Mexican American pre-school children in a border town" by Phyllis B. Acosta, Robert G. Aranda, Jane S. Lewis, and Marsha Read, Am. J. Clin. Nutr. 27: 1359-1368, 1974.

Table 4 should be changed to read as follows for indicated age in months:

This changes the percent of energy contributed by protein from the 11 to 12% reported to 16 to 17%. Carbohydrate contributed 46 to 50% of energy rather than the 46 to 54% reported.

The authors regret this error.
