MICROBIOLOGICAL CULTURE DEPOSITION

The Journal (AJCN) expects authors to deposit microbial strains used in any study to be published in publicly accessible culture collections, for example, the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) and to refer to the collectsion and strain numbers in the text (e.g. ATCC 53103). Since the authenticity of subcultures of culture collection specimens that are distributed by individuals cannot be ensured, authors should indicate laboratory strain designations and donor sources as well as original culture collection identification numbers.
